When I first joined the Society we were having working bees every two weeks. These days seems to be through
some days of the week and every weekend. Some of the members must be keen folk. As well as doing the working
bees, the same members, we also have a sausage sizzle at The Warehouse, in New Plymouth, to help in raising some funds. The
Society has done three excursion so far. Our first was to Wellington when Taranaki played Wellington. The next was to
Wanganui for the Taranaki Aniversary Monday, as the shops there were open for the normal business working day. On the way
down we stopped at Waverley, to have a look at the Waverley Station Museum. The last trip went to Hamilton for the Taranaki
Waikato rugby game. With purchase of the Branch line between Waitara and Lepperton, the lads have been doing
some repairs and cleaning to the Branch. Repaired and cleared the fence line. Also there have been a fair bit of weed spraying
done as well, and with the burning of the Toi Toi's as well, which had just about taken over the Branch in places. We
have started relaying the loop back in at the Brixton Yards, beside the old Brixton Dairy Factory. At this time we are just
about half way along the loop.
